Florence Bernice (Worth) Buckbee, 82, of Sargent died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Florence was born May 31, 1929, in Ainsworth to George (Dewey) and Edna Trent Worth. Florence attended Ovitt Country school north of Rose and graduated from Taylor High School in 1947. While in school she was a member of the band and played volleyball. During high school and after graduation, she worked in the law office of Burt Alder in Taylor. On Sept. 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Jay Buckbee in Julesburg, Colo. They moved to a farm west of Sargent that was a modified sod house. They lived there and farmed in the Somerford Community until they retired. To this union was born two children a son, Dennis and a daughter, Debra. Florence loved the outdoors. As a small child she lived on a small lake where she rowed fisherman from one side to the other. She grew up riding horses and working on ranches. Florence was a member of the Lutheran Women's Group and the American Legion Auxiliary. She also enjoyed playing cards and traveling with friends. Florence is survived: son, Dennis and wife, Carolyn of Lincoln, their children, Michaela Buckbee and fiance, Jeff Bohling of Lincoln, and Jason Buckbee and wife, Anne of Soldotna, Alaska; son in-law, Bob Dunbar of Milburn and daughters, Candace Martin and husband, Josh, of Holyoke, Colo., and Kristen Molesworth and husband, Rod, of York; great-grand children, Haley Buckbee, Makenzie Martin, Karlie Martin, Zac Buckbee, Owen Buckbee, Jacob Molesworth and Collin Molesworth, and a host of relatives and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra, on May 29, 1995; and her husband, Jay, on May 28, 1997. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sargent, NE.
