Funeral services for Wayne F. Patterson, 85, of DeSoto, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Chapel. Military graveside services under the direction of Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Wayne Franklin Patterson passed Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at his residence in DeSoto. He was born in Sulphur Springs on Dec. 7, 1925, the son of Willie Franklin and Winnie Henry Patterson. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include one daughter and one son. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Blackman. Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
