MART DAILY HERALD MARCH 20, 1929 MRS. JOHN M. GRIFFIN PASSES AWAY Mrs. John M Griffin, 69 years of age, died at the family residence on South Pearl street, Tuesday night at 10 o'clock, after a lingering illness. The deceased is survived by her husband and five children as follows: J.B, H.H., and J.H. Griffin of Mart; Mrs. H.I. Taylor of Madisonville, Texas, and Mrs. C.B. Walls of Leander, Texas. Thirty-two grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Griffin had been a member of the Baptist church for the past fifty years and was a lovely Christian character. Many friends mourn her death who sympathize with the bereaved family. Funeral service was conducted at the First Baptist church Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. B.B. Blaylock, pastor assisted by Rev. J.W. Campbell pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Mart cemetery.
