Ia Cpl Co H 349 Inf, WWI The Des Moines Register. Des Moines, Iowa. Saturday, November 18, 1961. Services for Riley E. Cowman, 66, of 2551 Garfield Ave., who died of a stroke Thursday at Mercy Hospital, will be Monday noon at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Percy. Mr. Cowman, a retired farmer, was born in Polk County. He lived 25 years in Des Moines after previously living 15 years in Keokuk County. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Elizabeth; a son, William Cowman of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Vadis Marie Canhan of Bisbee, Ariz.; two brothers, Roy of Des Moines and Harley of Redondo Beach Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Irene Furnal of Indianola, and four grandchildren.
