Bio

James Milne Nance, 57, died at his home at Union Thursday at 12:25 p.m. following a lingering illness. Mr. Nance was born July 28, 1870, in Wilkesboro, N.C., a son of James Y. and Mary Ball Nance. Active in L. D. S. church work, Mr. Nance was a member of the high priests' quorum of the Union ward and secretary of the elders quorum. He came to Utah 51 years ago and had lived in Union 14 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Brady Nance, and the following sons and daughters; Averil, Wesley, Buryl, Alton, Stanley, James and Joyce Nance, all of Union; a brother, John W. Nance, Taylorsville; three sisters, Mrs. Jane Hughes, Mrs. Ellen Transeau and Mrs. Elizabeth Bray, Salt Lake City. (Obituary provided courtesy of Blaine & Elaine Berger)
