Clyde Edward Warford, age 91, of Fayetteville AR, peacefully passed away, Monday morning, August 29th. He was born May 2 1920 to Dozier and Laura Warford of Crosses, AR. He led a very full and fruitful life and will be missed by many. At the age of 16, he joined the CCC's. Three years later, in 1939, he enlisted in the Army at Fort Bliss, TX. as a medic. He served his country for 32 years; covering the WWII era, the Korean Conflict, and serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Twice, receiving the 12th highest award, the army can bestow - The Army Commendation Medal - as well as numerous other awards and commendations. In 1977, he went to work at WRMC; where he worked for 26 years. Working in various departments from Guard to Environmental Services. He received an Employee of the Month Award and Employee of the Year Award. Finally retiring to his home in Fayetteville, at the age of 83. The oldest person to ever retire from WRMC. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Ruby Lynn Barefoot Warford, and a grand-daughter, Pamela K. Holycross. He is survived by: One daughter; Karen L. Sturgeon and her husband Foster, and Two sons; Johnny Brook Warford and his wife Joyce and Brett Dee Warford, all of Fayetteville. He had 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren. The Funeral will be at 12:00 (noon) Friday, September 2nd at Beard's Funeral Chapel.
