Bio

Ralph Randolph Savage, 88, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Jan. 7, 1921. He moved to Arizona as a young boy and lived in Bisbee, Ariz., for many years before moving to Sun City, Ariz., in 2007. He served in the U.S. Army from 1940 to 1945. He retired from the Paul Lime Plant in Douglas, Ariz., in 1985, after 27 years of service as a truck driver. Ralph lived a simple, long life, loved gardening, fishing and animals, especially dogs. He will always be remembered for his kind heart. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and his wife, Katherine, who died in 1993. He is survived by his twin daughters, Jackie Davies and Crystal Douglas, and sons-in-law Charles Davies and Tom Douglas of Phoenix, Ariz.; his granddaughters, Janelle Davies and Mandy Douglas; grandson, Brent Douglas; and brother, Bill Savage, and sister-in-law, Jo Savage. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Regency Mortuary, 9850 W. Thunderbird Road, in Sun City. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Road, Phoenix AZ 85041 or the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Fisheries Donation Account #04005, 5000 W. Carefree Highway, Phoenix AZ 85086.
