Bio

Geraldine Nona Bohaty, 75, of Beaver Crossing died at the Homestead Nursing Home in Lincoln. Her parents were Leonard M. and Eltheda (Gillan) Krasser. In 1936, she graduated from Cordova High School and attended the University of Nebraska for one year. She taught school at Seward County District #862. On August 25, 1940 she married Jerry Milo Bohaty at Exeter United Methodist Church, celebrating their 50th anniversary in the summer of 1990. They owned and operated "Jerry's Hardware" from 1954 to 1989. For many years, Geraldine wrote a column for the "LIFE" newsletter entitled "Thoughts". She received the "Woman of the Year" award from the Beaver Crossing Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting, and writing poetry. Geraldine was a member of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Beaver Crossing; daughters Beverly Ann (D. Chris) Benner of Williamsburg, Virginia, Betty Rae (Byron) McCormick of Oshkosh, Nebraska; sons Jerry Leonard (Judy) Bohaty of St. Marys, Ohio, Russell Gene (Jennie) Bohaty, and Rodney Dean Bohaty both of Lincoln; five grandchildren, sister Dolores (Sterling) Oetjen, Lincoln; sister-in-law Virginia Krasser, Cordova, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rex Krasser.
