EDMUND JOHNNIE (BULL) OELTJEN Fayette County Record Aug. 20, 2005 Oeltjen Funeral services for Edmund Johnnie "Bull" Oeltjen, 82, of Plum are set for 10:30 am Tuesday, Aug. 30 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie Valley with Rev. Lynnae Sorenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Valley Church Cemetery. Oeltjen died Sunday, Aug. 29 in a La Grange nursing home. He was born Sept. 24, 1922 in the Prairie Valley Community of Fayette County, the son of Anton and Erna (Marquart) Oeltjen. He married Vera Louise Hauschild on April 3, 1949. A heavy equipment operator for many years for the late V.A. (Boss) Hrbacek, he was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, especially since he was wheelchair bound since 1985. Survivors include one daughter, Lanice and husband Louis Bertsch of Plum; three grandchildren, Loren Bertsch and fiancée Amy Sivek of Prairie Valley, Landry Bertsch and Wife Melanie of Plum and Lauri Anzaldua and husband Bryan of Lockhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Larry Hauschild; one sister and brother-in-law, Anita Dunk and husband Wilford; one brother, Leon Oeltjen; and two infant brothers. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Prairie Valley Church Cemetery Association. Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home of La Grange was in charge of arrangements. Contributed by Gene L.
