Bio

Ruby Irene Huff Anderson, 86, passed away at Bright Glade Convalescent Center on August 22, 2011. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 66 years, Ruble Eugene Anderson. Ruby was born in Paige, TX, and joined the U.S. Navy Waves during WWII. She met and married Ruble at the naval base in San Diego, CA, where they both spent their time during the war. After the war, they settled in Memphis, started their family, and became active at Lamar Heights Baptist Church and later, at Cherry Road Baptist Church. She was a long-time employee and retiree of McDonnell Insurance Company, and an avid fan of U of M basketball. Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her son Duane Anderson, and is survived by son, Darrell Anderson (wife Paula Puglisi) of Washington Grove, MD, daughters, Elaine Burkhardt (husband Robert) of Cypress, TX and Rhonda Rowan of Collierville, TN, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Forest Hill East from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, with burial on Thursday August 25 at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to Cherry Road Baptist Church.
