Bio

Abilene Reporter News - May 7, 1997 Meral F. Green, 81, died Monday at her home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clyde Cemetery with Sam Nichols officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd. Mrs. Green was born in Collin County and grew up in East Texas. She worked as a seamstress and cook, and moved to California in 1942, Lubbock in 1977 and Abilene in 1986. She was a member of Trinity Community Church in Clyde and was the widow of Luther Green, whom she married in 1934 in Grayson County. Survivors include one daughter, Pat Reid of Abilene; one son, Luther Dale Green of California; one brother, James Hill of Slaton; two sisters, Nadine Jeffcoat of Lubbock and Jessie Smith of Durant, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
