Virginia Morris Hines (1925 - 2011) Virginia Morris Hines, 86, of Watauga passed away at home at 7:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, on the porch swing at sunset in the arms of her devoted son, Jacob Lee Hines II. She passed away after a 26-year courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday in Grove Hill Memorial Cemetery, 3920 Samuell Blvd., Dallas. Virginia was born July 2, 1925, in Dallas at St. Paul Hospital, the daughter of Osso Joseph Morris and Ruth Hancock Morris. Virginia graduated from Forest Avenue High School, now James Madison, in Dallas in 1943. Virginia was a lifelong Christian and member of the Church of Christ. She married Jacob L. Hines Sr., a minister (affiliate of Abilene Christian University and longtime friend of the late chancellor, John C. Stevens), on Dec. 31, 1953, in Dallas. She and her husband were married 31 years until his death. Virginia and her husband worked together to produce the book "Howard Hines Study of Revelation" in 1967. Virginia was an accomplished pianist and typist. She worked for Metzger Dairy in Dallas many years before moving to Nevada with her husband to support a ministry in Reno. Virginia and Jacob retired to Abilene in 1969. In God's grace we pray. Survivors: Sons, Larry Lee Hines and Jacob L. Hines III and his wife, Ivanna, and Brittany Virginia Hoak and Jessica Taylor and husband, Chris Taylor; great-grandchildren, Jacob Ezekial Hines and Bella Hines, Shannon Taylor and Charissa Taylor; brother-in-law, Delmas Thurmond; and nephew, Jerry Thurmond.
