Bio

********************************************** Hazel Griffin was born in Devine TX at the home of her parents Jack & Annie Griffin. She was one of 8 siblings, and six were girls. Hazel was next to the youngest. Hazel graduated from Devine High School and attended Southwest Texas State Teacher's College in San Marcos, TX - following in the footsteps of all four of her older sisters. After graduation, Hazel taught grade school in several small towns in and around south Texas. On May 18, 1930, Hazel married Raymond Landrum at the home of her parents in Devine, Texas. They were both almost 22 years old and Raymond was also a teacher. Following marriage, Hazel and Raymond continued their teaching careers until their retirement in 1971 in Cotulla, TX. After retirement, they moved to Rockport, TX, for a few years, then finally settled in Kerrville, TX. Hazel was born four months before Raymond and she died two months before he did. They were inseparable all of their married life and they both died a few months after their 90th birthdays. They were both kind and sweet soles all of their lives.
