Bio

Mary Emilie Hanus, 92, went to be with the Lord and into the arms of her sweetheart Rudolf on August 13, 2011. Mary was born to Melichar and Mary Kusak Prochazka on August 1, 1919, in the town of Cistern, TX. She married her sweetheart Rudolf Dubec on August 5, 1937, in Robstown, TX. Mary never met a stranger and had such a love for people. She had a servant’s heart being involved in many activities and clubs throughout her life. She was a member of The St. Joseph Altar Society, the Fireman’s Women Auxiliary, a one time board member of The Olmos Community Hall, and The Senior Community Center of Beeville. She was well known for her baking especially her delicious Kolaches. Mary loved her family and loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. God must have needed a gardener, because he picked the best to watch over all His children. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her 3 brothers and 1 sister; Charlie Hanus her second husband; and her first husband Rudolf Dubec. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Alice Newton and husband Lloyd of Seguin, Tx.; 2 grandchildren, Kurt Newton and wife Becky, Ronnie Newton and wife Beth, all of Seguin, TX; 5 great-grandchildren, Justin, Kandace, Tyler, Kathryn and Robert, all of Seguin; sister, Della Preston of Pensacola, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation was at 10 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Rosary was recited at 10:30 am with a Funeral mass at 11 am, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment followed in Beeville Memorial Park.
