Flora Mae DeMent, 93, of Paragould died peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2011 in Keosauqua, Iowa, with family at her bedside. She was born February 23, 1918 in Bertig, AR the daughter of the late Clarence Jackson "Bud" and Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzy" Cupp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Patric Shaw DeMent, step-children, Fred DeMent, Raymond DeMent, Juanita Stewart, Charles Leadow DeMent, Joseph DeMent, Donald DeMent, brother, James Cupp, sisters, Wava Campbell, Lucy Prince. She married Patric Shaw DeMent on December 11, 1948 in Powhatan, AR. She lived most of her life in Paragould, AR, Buena Park, CA and Fair Oaks, CA. She moved to Douds, Iowa in 2009. She is survived by her children: Patrick Dale (Katie) DeMent of Mountain Home, AR; Loretta (David) Bresler of Malibu, CA; Glenn (Helga) DeMent of Riverside, CA; Faye Williams of Iowa City, CA; Regina (David) Southard of Pioneer, CA; Zelda Ingle of Sacramento, CA; Reba (Christopher) Best of Kauai, HI; Iris DeMent (Greg Brown) of Douds, IA; 39 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life was held at Heath Colonial Chapel. Interment was at Memorial Gardens. www.heathfuneralhome.com
