Winfield Daily Courier Tuesday, July 30, 1968 Page 4 Mrs. Gertrude Catherene Cannon Thigpen Gertrude Thigpen, Houston, Tex., died at 12:18 yesterday afternoon at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Windfield Co. Kanas. She was born Sept. 18, 1912, Strong,Union Co. Ark., the daughter of John Everett and Fannie Catherine Reynolds Cannon. She married Walter Thigpen March 17, 1933, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Tex. Survivors include her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Lindsey, Mrs. Mildred Hutchins, Joyce Thigpen, Houston and Mrs. Betty Leal and Mrs. Lala Boyle, Alice, Tex. Funeral services will be in Alice, Tex. The body is being shipped today. Morris Funeral Home has charge.
