Son of J. C. Watkins and Margaret (Herron) Watkins. Married (1) Minnie Lee Winfield, circa 1897. Together they were the parents of Herman Watkins, Maeclare Watkins, Lois Watkins, N.A. Watkins, Hazel Watkins, and Mabel Watkins. Minnie died in 1910. Married (2) widow Malinda (Montgomery) Tyson. Photographer; owned studios in Rising Star and Denton, Texas.
