Martha married Joseph Sponseller 17 Aug 1891 in Show Low, Arizona. They had eight children: Katie Myrtle, Jeremiah Rufus, Samuel James, Lydia May, Anne Florence, Harry Oliver, Alice Virginia and Dorothy Viola. She and Joseph divorced some years later and she married Dusty Rhoads.
