The Late B. Frank Reid. The funeral of the late Mr. B. Frank Reid, of North Platte, Neb., took place from the residence of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Minerva Reid, on the east side, Saturday afternoon, August 20, at two o'clock. No formal services were held here, as these had already taken place in his home town before the shipment of the remains to this, his old home, for interment. Mr. Reid was born in Tremont, Illinois, Jan. 24, 1845. He was one of a large family, whose members were for years prominent in the life and events of this community. His early years were spent near Delavan. He was married August 10, 1867, to Orpha Ann Phillips. In 1876, Mr. Reid moved to Kansas, and from there to North Platte, Neb., which place was his home until death. For years he was employed as engineer of the North Platte Roller Mills. About five years ago his health commenced to fail, and for three years past he was incapacitated for active work. In the community in which he lived he was known as a good and true father and citizen. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. T. Byrne, Tuesday, August 16. The remains were accompanied to Delavan by Mr. and Mrs. Bryne, arriving here Friday afternoon. Only a brief service of prayer, conducted by Rev. F. C. Everittt, pastor of the Presbyterian church, was held here Saturday, following which the remains were consigned to their last resting place in Prairie Rest cemetery. The deceased is survived by five daughters - Mrs. Lucy Weaver, of New Cambria, Kansas; Mrs. Minnie Cryderman, Mrs. Jessie Dikeman, Mrs. Fannie Smith and Mrs. Anna Byrne, of North Platte. Published in the Delavan Times; Delavan, Tazewell County, Illinois.
