Born in Timpson, Texas to John Franklin and Malissa Prince-Webb he grew up with 9 siblings. After registering for the WW I Draft on June 5, 1917 he married Lorene Black 9 months later in Shelby County on March 17, 1918. Soon afterwards Uncle Sam came calling and he was inducted into the US Army in Center, Texas July 23, 1918. He spent his entire enlistment with the 122 Infantry Regiment at Camp Wheeler near Macon, Georgia. Private Webb would receive his honorable discharge on January 30, 1919 and be awarded the World War I Victory Medal. He and Lorene would have three children, Arvin, Robert and Doris. Arvin would serve in World War II and die of wounds on December 19, 1945. Mr. Webb lived to age 78 and passed at Heights Hospital, Houston, Texas of heart failure.
