Northeast Dallas County Record - 24 Nov 2005 Edith McDowell, 90, of Perry, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry. Services were held Friday, Nov. 18 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Burial was in Dallas Township Cemetery in Dawson. Edith Grace McDowell, was born Jan. 2, 1912 in Dawson, the daughter of Harry Lewis and Hazel Newton Lewis. She grew up on Dawson, attended school and graduated from high school there. She married Clarence A. McDowell on Jan. 21, 1929 in Jefferson. The family made their home in Dawson. She worked for Northwestern Bell for many years. She loved crafting, ceramics, sewing and painting. She was also quite fond of the outdoors and like to go fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, her three children; and two grandsons. She is survived by five grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Memorials to the family may be left at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry.
