Published in The Daily Sentinel, on July 15, 2006 Funeral for Mildred Reed Hancock, 79, of Nacogdoches will be at 2 p.m., Sunday at Laird Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Parsons and the Rev. Dan Danheim officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Hancock died July 13, 2006, in Nacogdoches. Born Aug. 16, 1926, in Houston she was the daughter of George L. and Ruby Miller Reed. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nacogdoches Chapter 426 and held masters¹ degrees from East Texas State University and Texas Women¹s University. She was retired as a librarian for Ralph W. Steen Library at SFA. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons, Tom Hancock of Arlington, Robert Hancock of Houston and Lester of Bedford; daughter, Virginia Hancock of Houston; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
