Bio

MARTINETS, BENNIE JOSEPH. Bennie was born on October 7, 1923 in Holland, TX to Louis and Theresa Zurek Martinets. His life on earth was completed on April 24, 2003 in Dallas as he joined his loving wife Billie. He graduated from Academy High School. Immediately upon graduation from high school he served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was with the 147th Infantry Regimental Combat Team in the South Pacific on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Okinawa from 1943 to 1946. Bennie retired from Coerver Industries Bank Fixture Company as a cabinetmaker. Since retirement he had kept busy refinishing and restoring furniture. His daughter, Mary and her husband John Elliott and one grandson, Benjamin James Elliott, survive him. He also leaves behind one brother, Louis J. Martinets and wife Christine of Lancaster, TX; brother-in-law, Roy Garbarine of San Clemente, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 26, 2003, WALNUT HILL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3202 Royal Lane, Dallas. Private graveside services will be held for the family only.
