Bio

Sam Myers died Thursday night Jan. 17, after a long spell of consumption. Mr. Myers was a young man much loved by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and one child, father and mother, five brothers and four sisters, and a host of relatives to mourn his early death. He was about 23 years old. He bore his suffering manfully and expressed his willingness to go, asking his friends to prepare to meet him. The funeral service was held at Old Zion by Rev. Sam Howell in the presence of a large crowd. [Putnam County Herald - 2/16/1911] NOTE: The newspaper incorrectly spelled Mires. This branch of the family uses the MIRES spelling.
