DEATH CAME EARLY FRIDAY MORNING TO MARY PAGEL She Was 82 Years Of Age And Had Been Ill Two Weeks; The Funeral Mass Was Held From Catholic Church Wednesday Death came in the early hours Friday morning, November 3, to bring to close the earthly journey of Mrs. Mary Page, at the age of 82 years. Her condition became critical a couple weeks ago, when illness incidental to her advanced years cause her to become bedfast. Knowing her condition to be serious, her four children, Mrs. Lizzie Van Horn of Newberg, Ore., August and John of Denver, and Carl of Yuma, were at her bedside during her final illness. Mary Fieber was born on December 26, 1867 in Austria. She left her native country in 1887 to come with her parents to America and to Yuma county. She was married to Albert Pagel on April 29, 1889 at LeRoy, at that time a rural community north of Yuma. Seven children were born to this union. The family lived at their farm home until 1925, when they moved to Yuma to make their home. Mr. Pagel died in 1933. Others of the family who preceded the mother in death were Annie, who died in 1917, Albert Jr. in 1923, and Lena in August of this year. Besides the three sons and one daughter named above, Mrs. Pagel is survived by four brothers, John Fieber of Toledo, Ore., Joe Fieber of Fairbury, Neb., Charlie Frank and a sister, Thresa Ludwig, all of Sash., Canada; 24 grandchildren; and 41 great grandchildren. Mrs. Pagel was a member of St. John's Catholic church, and funeral mass was conducted from the church at 10:00 o'clock Wednesday morning by Rev. C. Gallagher. A Rosary was held at Morris Mortuary at 7:00 o'clock Tuesday evening. Following the mass burial was made beside her husband in the Yuma cemetery, with Morris Mortuary making the arrangements.--Yuma Pioneer, Thursday, Nov. 9, 1950, Pg. 1
