Bio

Josie Ann Brown, 98 of Temple died Tuesday, July 26, in a Temple living center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Meadow Oaks Baptist Church with the Rev. Lillian Hinds officiating. Private burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Hamilton to Henry Aaron Joiner and Delia C. Burns Joiner. She lived in Temple most of her life. She married Vinson E. Brown Sr. in 1935 and he preceded her in death Sept. 8, 2001. She was a homemaker and a member of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Brown Bunkley, in 1981; and one grandchild. Survivors include a son, Vinson E. Brown Jr. of Cyclone; a daughter, Vanny Bolsins of Temple; two brothers, Rufus Joiner and Clarence Joiner, both of Austin; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will follow service. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
