Bio
Irene Luella Anliker, the daughter of John and Kathryn Bonnstetter Bleuer, was born November 15, 1922 in West Bend, IA. Her childhood years were spent in West Bend where she received her education, graduating from West Bend High School. Irene continued her education at Hamilton Business School. Irene married Delbert Anliker on May 9, 1943, in Denver, CO. Following their marriage they lived in Davenport, IA, where Delbert was attending Palmer College of Chiropractic. They moved to Spencer where he practiced at Anliker Chiropractic Clinic and Irene helped in the office for 50 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer where she served on the Prayer Chain, Alter Society and Mission Groups. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting. Irene passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert on June 20, 2008; brother, Paul; and an infant sister, Marjorie. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Marcia and Edward Rolenc of Iowa City, IA, Stephen and Mary Anliker of Cambridge, IA, Gregory and Laurie Anliker of Windsor Heights, IA, Dr. Brian and Lori Anliker of Milford, IA, and Kimberly Berg of Davenport, IA; 10 grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; brother, Rolland Bleuer of West Bend, IA; sister Bernadine Schneider and her husband, Dan of Casper, WY; other relatives and friends.
