Charles Lawson Smith was the son of Albert and Mary Smith. According to his daughter, Mary Etta Smith Stonebraker, "He worked 35 years for the Coca Cola Company in Dallas, Texas. He retired as a supervisor and probably was the closest person to know the formula for Coca Cola as he worked for the syrup company on Mockingbird Lane and Lemmon Ave. In his lifetime he made many inventions which were purchased by the Coke Co. One of them was a swivel plug used on machines with moving parts so that the cards would not tangle when they moved."
