Services for Sonia Brumbelow Rakestraw, 61, of Chandler were held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church of Chandler with Gary Fitzgerald and Bill Yohe officiating. Burial followed at Chandler Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home. Mrs. Rakestraw died Nov. 3, 1999, in Tyler. She was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Tyler to J.C. and Elaine Shelley Brumbelow. She lived in Tyler prior to moving to Chandler in 1976. She was a retired surpervisor with the Texas Employement Commission with over 32 years of service. She was a member of Firts United Methodist Church and was an Eastern Star. Mrs. Rakestraw was preceded in death bu her parents; and brother Jimmy Brumbelow. She is survived by her husband, James "Buck" Rakestraw of Chandler: daughters, Lisa Tyner and Patti Magee, both of Chandler; brothers, W.E. "Butch" Brumbelow, J.R. "Dick" Brumbelow of Flint and Joe Dan "Danny" Brumbelow; sisters, Mary Ann Scudder and Trudy Hardman, both of Tyler; grandson Jordan Magee of Chandler; granddaughters, Amber Tyner, Nikole Tyner and Lauren Magee, all of Chandler; and one great-granddaughter, Payton Tyner of Chandler. Pallbearers were Kendall Neill, Frank Snider, Ed Bickerdike, David Allison, Don Copeland, Bill McHam, Jerry Houston and Bud Prater. Honorary pallbearers were Winston Reagan, Joel Tyner, Gregg Magee, Ken Cade, Jerry Kidd, Johnny Lightfoot, Preston Gamble and Jerry Magee.
