Bio
Helen was always active, looking for something new to learn and do. She preferred being outside, loved gardening, hunting and fishing, but she also loved working with her hands; one of her favorite activities was restoring furniture. She also tooled leather and collected coins. In later years she took up bowling and excelled in this as she had in everything else. Helen retired from work as a bookkeeper from Central Feed Company when she and her husband purchased a ranch on the Judith River. Always busy, she continued working through Council on Aging as a sales clerk at non-profit shops in Lewistown. Helen moved to Malta five years ago to be near her daughter Diane and her husband Dwight Martin. She loved the area and made many friends, enjoying pinochle every week and church activities. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Carlyle in 2011; her father Arthur in 1964 and her mother Georgia in 1966; her sister Ethel Oltman in 1989; her sister Mildred Deyoe in 1989; her brother Daniel "Sunny" in 1991; her brother Claude "Babe" in 1993; and her sister Dorothy "Took" Skagen in 2007.
