Dennis Michael Karnes,44,of South Sioux City,Neb.,died Sunday April 6,2003 at a Sioux City hospital.Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Beckner-Hunt Funeral Home,with Rev.Chuck Rager of St.Paul's United Methodist Church officiating.Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.Dennis was born Oct.1,1958 in Wakefield,Neb,Dixon County,the son of Deaan E. and Helen A.(Casey)Karnes.He graduated from South Sioux City High School.Was employed with Pepsi-Cola in South Sioux City,Neb.He enjoyed golf,pool and bowling.Survivors include,a son and his wife,Dustin and Norma Karnes of San Diego,Calif.;a daughter and husband,Deatra and Carlos Manzanilla of San Jacinto,Calif.;his mother,Helen Karnes of South Sioux City,Neb.;two sisters,Cheryl and Don Peterson of So.Soo.City,Neb.,Rhonda and Dwayne Schutt of Randolph,Neb;three granchildren,Brandon Karnes and Italia and J.C.Manzanilla.Preceded in death by,his father,an infant daughter,Dawnay Sue Karnes.
