Martha born to John and Jean Gamble Blair, in Guilford, North Carolina on Feb 14 1776. She married John Billingsley on August 14, 1792 in Davidson. County, Tennessee. Martha gave birth to ten children: Martha, James, Samuel, Ann Rea, Virginia, Rachel Garvin, John Rankin, William, Jonathan Blair and Robert Montgomery. Moved to Crystal Hill Ark, in 1811; moved to Cane Hill, Washington County, Ark Nov.14 1827. Husband John Billingsley died that night. Moved to Newton County, Missouri in 1836, with family; and to Texas in 1844, first in Ellis County , and later in Johnson County, Texas. Martha was a Charter member of the Presbyterian Church . Aunt Mattie was a woman preacher. Some said hat she said, "Some things needs a woman's touch." It is said Martha passed at her son's home (Robert Montgomery) about 1860 or 1861, and is buried in unmarked grave at Marystown Cemetery, in Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas. There is so much more to tell of Martha A. Blair Billingsley. I am proud to share some of the same blood as this great woman. Lloyd Cannon
