Mrs. Jewel Keen, 69, of Route 2 Ellisville died Friday in Jones County Community Hospital. The Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Jones Funeral Home Ellisville, with the Revs. Randy McHan and B. F. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery. A life long resident of Jones County. Mrs. Keen was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church the Ellisville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Homemakers Club. She was a retired registered nurse receiving her nursing degree in New Orleans La. She retired from Dunham Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her widower, Joseph W. Keen of route 2,Ellisville and one brother, Lewis Jordan of Alexandria, La. Pallbearers are Rusty (Bostic?), Hilly Flowers, Joe Turner, Mervin Stockman, Boe Everette and (H.? I.? Cochran Jr.. Visitation will be at Jones Funeral Home after3 p.m. today. Jewel Jordan was a native of Jones County MS. She was a nurse. After WWII, she married Joe Keen of Ackerman MS. Joe and Jewel moved to Cincinnati, OH where Jewel continued to work as a nurse and Joe worked in the steel industry. After retirement in the early 1970s, they returned to Mississippi and lived near Ellisville in Jones County. In 1980, Jewel died from complications associated with diabetes. She was buried near her home, in Jordon Cemetery. She had a sister, Crystal Bollinger. Sister Crystal Jordan Bollinger
