Jensen Seggerman, #47078678, for the following: Louis Kubicek, son of Mike Kubicek and Teresa Hanzl Kubicek was born in a sod house in Fillmore county, Nebraska, June 10, 1878. He passed away at Warren Memorial Hospital at Friend Monday, June 27, 1960, at the age of 82 years and 17 days. He attended rural school for a few years. January 17, 1905, he was united in marriage to Katie Stetin and to this union were born three daughters. The family farmed northwest of Milligan until 1947 when they retired and moved to Milligan. He leaves to mourn his passing, His wife, Katie; three daughters, Leona, Mrs. John Pavelka of Milligan, Lillian, Mrs. James Pavelka of Milligan and Blanche, Mrs. Joe Voboril of Omaha; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Joe Kubicek of Milligan; several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were conducted from the Milligan auditorium, Wednesday, June 29, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ernest Horner of Exeter officiating. Mrs. Albert Kassik Jr. and Robert Kassik sang "God Will Take Care of You" in Czech and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Herman Michl. Burial was in the Bohemian National cemetery, beneath a beautiful blanket of floral tributes. Pallbearers were nephews, Milo, Frank, Ed, Mike, Harry and Harold Kubicek. the Nebraska Signal, July 7th 1960 page 5.
