THE PARIS NEWS, Tuesday, January 19, 1993.. Avis Lucille Caldwell, 78, of Irving, died Sunday, January 17, 1993 in Pioneer Nursing Home in Irving. Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, in Owens-Brumley Chapel in Wichita Falls with Elder Dale Turner Jr. officiating. Graveside services at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 21 with Elder Harley Stripland in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Avis was born in Quitman, TX, a daughter of John Madison Caldwell and Willie Doris Clinton. She was a graduate of Blossom High School and worked at Camp Maxey and the Sanitarium of Paris before moving to Wichita Falls. In 1976, she retired form Sheppard Air Force Base after 23 years of service. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 39 years and was a member of the Grandfield Baptist Church in Grandfield, OK. Surviving are a sister, Madeline Mote of San Antonio; 3 brothers, Douglas Caldwell of Irving, Donald Caldwell of Long Beach, CA, and Dean Caldwell of Mesquite.
