Bio
Mary was born in Austria, to Anton Ferdinand Blaschke and Anna Junger. She came to the United States with her parents and her five siblings in Sept 1889 aboard the S/S Saale. Arriving first in New York and then on to Galveston, TX. from Galveston the family settled in Okland,Colorado Co., Texas. Her father died in a drowning accident Apr 23, 1890 just seven months after arriving here. Her mother Anna married Joseph Podzemnyand Dec 29, 1892 and had five more children before her death in Aug 1899, at which time the children were all sent to live with other families in the area. Mary married William J Wanke from this union they had seven children.
