Woodrow Wilson "Bob" Crouse 1918–2011 • L8Y4-VLP Woodrow Wilson "Bob" Crouse, 92, of Hyannis, died on March 22, 2011, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance, NE. Bob was born October 24, 1918 in a sod house south of Franklin, NE. He was the 7th of ten children born to O'Dell and Rosa May (Brumbaugh) Crouse. Bob enjoyed working at various ranches throughout the Sandhills over the years. From 1939 to 1942 he broke mules as a civilian at Fort Robinson before he enlisted in the Army. After basic training he served as a cook in New Guinea and the Philippines. On February 15th, 1947, Bob married Margaret Irene Ralston. Together they had 4 children. Margarette preceded Bob in death in 1981. In 1983 he retired and married Hazel Schultz. Bob is survived by: former wife Hazel Crouse, brother Bill Crouse of Ashby, daughters, Susan Smith of Wichita, KS and Pamela Glaze of North Platte NE, son, Robert James "RJ" Crouse of Albuquerque, NM, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret, his daughter, Karen Douglas, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Inurnment with military honors will be in the Ashby Cemetery, Ashby, NE.
