Thanks to Contributor M. Jensen Seggerman, #47078678, for the following: Agnes Sramek, daughter of Josef and Magdelena Stetina Sramek, was born in Fillmore County, near Milligan, January 28, 1893. She passed away September 25, 1953, at the Fairbury Lynch Clinic after a lingering illness at the age of 60 years, 7 months and 28 days. She attended Milligan public school and later kept house for her parents. February 11, 1922, she was married to Charles Nohava at Wilber and lived in the Milligan and Steele City vicinities before moving to Fairbury in 1933. She was a willing, active worker, a kind wife, mother and grandmother. Those who preceded her in death were her parents; two brothers, Frank and Joe; two sisters, Mary Kouba and Kate Vohnout. Those who survive are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Wilma) Fuqua, of Parma, Idaho; one son, Henry Clouis Nohava, of Omaha; one step-daughter, Mrs. Emil Pepper of Aitkin, Minn.; three brothers, Stanley Sramek of Billings, Mont.; James Sramek of Wahoo and John Sramek of Milligan; also 11 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren and other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral was conducted from the Nuckolls Funeral home at Fairbury, September 29 at 2 o'clock. Burial was at the Bohemiam Nation Cemetery at Milligan. Rev. A. W. Johnson of Fairbury officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Frank H. Hromadka Jr., Ernest Havel, Weldon Garrison, William Kouba, Leslie Skrivanek and James L. Nohava.
