Bio
Betty M. Haverland, age 82, went to be with her Lord on March 22, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. Betty was born in Texarkana, TX to Leslie and Helen Wainwright. During World War II, Betty worked at Hickam Air Base in Oahu, HI as a civilian in the Signal Corp. Betty then went to Nursing School in Mobile, AL where she received a nursing degree and later worked in New Orleans, then in Texas where she met and later married Clarence L. Haverland. In 1956, the family moved to Albuquerque, NM where they raised their family. Betty was also a troop leader for the Girl Scouts and was very active with her children's activities. Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years of marriage, Clarence L. Haverland, three children, Michael Haverland of Colorado Springs, CO; Suzanne Haverland of Albuquerque, NM and Beatrice Hooper and husband, John, of Oklahoma City, OK. Betty is also survived by six grandchildren, Shawna Haverland, Summer Haverland, Jessica Haverland, Halle Haverland, Rebecca Hooper and Jimmy Hooper. Betty is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Friends may visit on Saturday, March 24, 2007 and Sunday March, 25, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass of the Resurrection will be on Monday, March, 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Virgil Furfaro as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
