Funeral services for Neil Nash, 78, of Burr Ferry, Louisiana were Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Burr Ferry United Pentecostal Church in Burr Ferry. Burial followed in the Burr Ferry Cemetery. Neil, the son of Eddie and Meadie Howard Nash was born on November 28, 1932, in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. He passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011, in Alexandria, LA. Mr. Nash served two years in the U.S. Army; he worked for the Vernon Parish School Board for 17 years and worked as a Mess Hall Attendant at Fort Polk for 8 years. He loved farming and tending to cows. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alva Nash. He is survived by his daughter, Clarice Nash of Burr Ferry; brother, Johnny Nash of Burr Ferry; grandchildren; Travis Lott & Katland Lott both of Burr Ferry; nieces & nephews, Tina Fox & Shalon Nash both of Burr Ferry, Jerry Wayne Nash, James Roy Nash & Timothy Nash all of Mansfield. Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
