Services for Mattie Pearl Boone, 87, of Huntington, were held Feb. 13, 2001 in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with burial in Huntington Cemetery. Mrs. Boone was born Jan. 21, 1914, in Chireno, Texas, and she died Feb. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. Mrs. Boone was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved to sew, quilt, cook and work in her garden. She was faithful to her Lord and church, Oak Flat Missionary Baptist church. Survivors: Son, J. C. Boone Son and daughter-in-law, Dickie and Judean Boone Daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Danny Spurlock and Mary Beth and Gerald Forse Grandchildren: 8 Great-grandchildren: 8 A number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
