Dr. John Philip Schad, 65 Sauk Rapids July 9, 1945 - July 1, 2011 Mass of Christian Burial will be 7:30 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Dr. John Philip Schad, 65 of Sauk Rapids, who died quietly on July 1, 2011. Friends and relatives may call from 3:00 PM until the time of services on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. A private burial ceremony will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights on Wednesday morning. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids. John was born on July 9, 1945 in Rochester, MN to Christian and Catherine (Schneider) Schad. The youngest of eleven children, John was raised on a farm in Plainview, MN. He was married to Mary Taufen on June 15, 1968 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in South St. Paul. John graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 1969. After serving two years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, he established North Benton Dental Care in Sauk rapids, MN. He practiced there until his retirement in 2008. John is Survived by his wife, Mary Schad of Sauk Rapids; children, Charles (Jennifer Thom) of Sartell, Alexander (Katie Nairn), of Sauk Rapids, Laura Collier (Scott) of Edina, and Adam (Kate White) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, MacKenzie, Connor, Sarah, Addie, Will, Turner and Clara; Brothers and sisters, Michael of Columbus, OH, Jeanine Ryan of Rochester, Bernard of Melrose, Virginia Carlson of St. Michael, Loretta Gosse of Bloomington and Thomas of Burnsville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Marilyn Mueller, Catherine Schaber and Christen Schad
