Fremont Tribune (NE) - Tuesday, June 18, 2002 AMES -- The funeral for Marie M. Paseka, 83, of Ames will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hooper. She died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Nye Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fremont. Marie Nesladek was born July 16, 1918, in Morse Bluff. She was a 1936 graduate of Wahoo High School and attended Peru State College in Peru, Dana College in Blair and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She graduated from Midland College in Fremont in 1969 with a bachelor of arts in history. She married Frank L. Paseka May 14, 1941, at Cedar Hill. After her marriage, the couple lived in the Cedar Hill area near Morse Bluff from 1942-50 and then moved to rural Hooper. They moved to rural Ames in 1961. She taught in rural schools and later taught at St. Patrick's Grade School in Fremont for 11 years. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hooper, St. Rose Guild and Catholic Daughters Court Queen of Angels. She taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) classes at St. Rose of Lima for 15 years and was a member of Fremont Area Right to Life. Survivors include: her husband; a son, Don (and wife, Janis) Paseka of Ames; four daughters, Sharon (Mrs. Robert) Martinez of Wichita, Kan., Dolores Amos of Omaha, Patti (Mrs. Harv) Babendure of Boise, Idaho, and Kati (Mrs. Roger) Leising of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. The Rev. Michael Eckley will officiate Wednesday's service. A public rosary led by the Catholic Daughters will be said at 7 tonight at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be 2-9 tonight at the funeral home and continues 9:15-9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery near Morse Bluff. Memorials have been established to Fremont Area Right to Life and Eppley Cancer Institute.
