Bio
Marvin Alan Vollmer of Eugene died Aug. 22 of age-related causes at age 85. No service is planned. He was born Nov. 18, 1924, in Byers, Kan., to Charles and Edith Andis Schoonover. He married Jean Vollmer in 1949. He attended Kansas University. He served as a corporal in the 407th Airborne in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He worked an accountant. Survivors include his wife, of Springfield; two sons, Christopher of California and Michael of Texas; two daughters, Judith Russell of California and Cheryl Graham of Oregon; a brother, Wayne Mendenhall of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield.
