Cappen, 84, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at her home. Born May 12, 1919, in Sargeant, Neb., she lived in Vista for five years. She lived in Shelton, Wash., previously. She was a mobile home park manager for 30 years and most recently for Vista Royal Lodge Mobile Estates. She was an artist for 30 years. She was a doll maker and ceramic instructor. Mrs. Cappen is survived by her husband of 30 years, Edward I. Cappen of Vista; daughters Kandyce Ericson of Fort Meyers, Fla., Kayleen Kaufman of Carmel and Kimberly Bottger of Scio, Ore.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. No services will be held at the request of the deceased. Private inurnment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Allen Bros. Mortuary, Vista Chapel is handling arrangements.
