Ethel Thompson Strother OAKDALE -- Funeral services for Ethel Thompson Strother will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in West Baptist Church, Oakdale, with Elder Wilburn Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Occupy #1 Cemetery, Pitkin, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Ms. Strother, 93, of Oakdale, died at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, in Allen Oaks Nursing Home, Oakdale. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Occupy #1 Baptist Church and attended West Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Matt Thompson two sons, Curtis Thompson and Bobby Lee Thompson and one daughter, Ruby Thompson. Survivors include four sons, Earl Thompson of Oakdale, Herman Thompson of Pitkin, Willie Thompson of Glenmora and Cecil Thompson of Forest Hill five daughters, Lois Wiley of Pitkin, Velma Hillman of Oakdale, Dovie Orr of Sherman, Texas, Mavis Bullock of Plano, Texas, and Edna M.
