Born Arnold Timmermann. Timmermann is spelled with two N's on his baptism certificate. CLIPPED FROM Fremont Tribune Fremont, Nebraska 11 May 1936, Mon  •  Page 4 FUNERAL IS HELD FOR SNYDER MAN SNYDER, May 11 — Funeral services for Arnold Timmerman were held Friday morning at the St. Leo's Catholic church in Snyder. Mr. Timmerman was ill only a short time and died Tuesday evening on his 84th birthday. Burial was made at the Catholic cemetery. Timmerman was born in Hanover, Germany, May 5, 1852. At the age of 12 he came to this country to live with his aunt and uncle in West Point. He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Wortman in 1876. They made their home on a farm south of Monterey until 1911 when they retired and moved to Snyder. To this union six daughters and four sons were born, Mrs. Anna Volker, Mrs. Mary Brumm and William preceded him in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Lena Kraft, Snyder; Mrs. Joe Burger, Plainview; Mrs. Clara Oltjenbruns Holyoke, Colo.; Mrs. Bertha Nearing Fort Larme, Wyo., Joe of Wessington, S. D.; Henry of West Point and Frank of Hillsdale, Wyo. * Arnold came to this county in 1869, at the age of 17, not in 1840 when he was 12. He is found on Hamburg and New York passenger lists in 1869. He is listed in the 1870 census record in West Point, Cuming, Nebraska, living with his future wife Anna Wortman's aunt and uncle.
