Whitney Messenger Thursday, March 6, 1980 Mrs. Jessie Bennett Mrs. Jessie Bennett, age 82 of Rt. 2, Whitney died Saturday, March 1, 1908 at the Whitney Hospital. Funeral services was held Monday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. at the Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Elgin Blevins, Rev. Ellis Holden and Rev Kenneth Herring officiating. Interment was in Peoria Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett was born July 30, 1897 in the Vaughan Community in Hill County. She married Seldon Bennett December 23, 1943. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters; Mrs. Cliff Bennett, Mrs. J.W. Aldrigde, Mrs. Lee Bennett and Mrs. Fred Herring. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney. Survivors are her husband, Seldon Bennett; 1 brother, Arden Battles of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
