☆~ VETERAN, CIVIL WAR (1861-1865) ~☆ James Wood Webster enlisted as a Private for the Union in the Civil War. He was assigned to Company A, Pennsylvania 142nd Infantry Regiment on 22 Aug 1862, and mustered out on 29 May 1865 at Washington, DC. (Information obtained from U.S. Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles) James Wood Webster was the second of three sons born in Erie, Pennsylvania to Jane and Lambert Webster. His brother George was also a Civil War soldier.
