Bio

Evelyn Moffett, 96 years old, went to be with the Lord October 15th, 2020 in Brazoria, Texas. She was born to William and Edith Mazoch in Taiton, Texas. On May 15, 1946 she married Charles Moffett in Houston, Texas and soon moved to Brazoria, Texas because she didn't want to raise a family in a big city. Being an only child, Evelyn and Charles created quite a large family. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother to seven children, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brazoria, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, KJZT and Golden Age. Evelyn loved spending time with her family and friends, fishing, cooking for family, shopping and loved her Dr. Pepper. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Mazoch; husband, Charles Raymond Moffett; sons, Charles (Suggie) Moffett and David Moffett; and great-grandsons, Connor Thoe and Luke Moffett. Evelyn is survived by her sons, Michael Moffett (Pat) and Steve Moffett (Sissy); daughters, Linda and Judy Moffett and Tina Dietz (Skee-gee); fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, October 23, 2020 at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home in West Columbia from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held 10:00 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Brazoria. Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Taiton, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Bill Moffett, Tim Moffett, Greg Moffett, Stephen Moffett, Corey Thoe, Brandon Lively, Stephen Lackey and Tyler Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Taylor, Joe Lynette, Ed Moffett, Brennan Moffett, Justin Moffett and Austin Moffett. Our family would like to thank Mom’s dedicated caregivers Ms. Rhoda Pettaway and Janet Delvige and also the Amed Hospice team for their compassionate care. For the well-being of all, the family asks that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Contributor: Helen Dolezal (49748278)
